Brother Jon's - Breakfast - Bend Oregon

Brother Jon's - Breakfast

Brother Jon's is one of my favorite places to hang out. I've had almost everything on the menu aside from the stupid portobello sandwich. "But it tasted like steak, you'll love it" your vegan ass tries to convince me. Yeah, sure portobello tastes like steak if steak was mushy and tasted like shit. It's not steak and doesn't taste "beefy". You know what does taste "beefy"? BEEF. Stop with all that nonsense.

I've written about the regular Brother Jon's menu and the Specials board before. Now I'd like to share that they are open for breakfast - currently only on Saturdays and Sundays and showing a bunch of college and NFL games accordingly. This works great for me as normally I do whatever the Wife wants on Saturday and I do whatever I want on Sundays. And during the NFL season, my Sunday is spent watching football.

Even though Brother Jon's owners are Patriots and Saints fans, they are cool with showing a good team on one of their many TVs if you request it. While you watch your team you can grub on one of their breakfast items from breakfast sandwiches, good ole breakfast plates, biscuits and gravy, and a few different eggs benedict. My favorite is the Country Benedict which is basically a normally eggs bene but with country gravy in place of hollandaise.

You get the option of country potatoes or cottage cheese and fruit. I like to keep things healthy so I usually go for the fruit...then I just don't eat it and they have to throw it away...this is what I call "American Style".

Joolz - BBQ Pulled Chicken

Joolz

I've written about Joolz before but I'm trying to get back to my roots and simply review the dishes I eat. So when the Wife and I went out for apps and drinks at a few spots on a glorious Saturday evening, we stopped by Joolz for a quick bite.

I ordered an Arak (a traditional alcoholic beverage of Lebanon and Syria) as I always do and we decided on the BBQ Pulled Chicken topped with tabbouli.

The chicken is tender and juicy. So good. If you get this and an order of califlower you'll be in heaven. YES! Califlower, I do eat veggies on occasion and Joolz's califlower is amazing.
